Job Summary:

OGX is seeking a Team Lead to be the front line supervisor for its Food and Beverage Operations at the NYC Flagship location. The Food Services Team Lead will be responsible for the daily oversight, training, and development of team members, and delivering an exceptional Guest experience.  They will be the LOD (Leader on Duty) for the retail café and must display leadership abilities while working as part of a team to yield goal-oriented results.

This part-time position pays $21.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and sound judgment to the Food Services team to the benefit of the company
  • Implement operations policies, processes, procedures, and standards as it relates to the café and overall food/beverage department
  • Train and develop a world-class retail café operations team
  • Actively participate in defining the team culture and incorporating it into the café operations
  • Assist in establishing basic personnel standards for the café and overall food/beverage department
  • Be part of the LOD (Leader on Duty) retail café rotation
  • Assess the effectiveness of the team, providing feedback to management, and enforcing disciplinary actions as outlined in the employee handbook and training
  • Oversee inventory levels; notify upper management of re-order needs to ensure smooth operation
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19
  • Must possess or be able to obtain Food Handler’s Certificate within 30 days
  • Must be able to remain in a standing, stationary position more than 75% of the time
  • Must be able to work a minimum of two shifts, one of which must be a weekend day
  • Must be able to frequently move food service inventory and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to move about inside the retail coffee shop space
  • Must be able to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to work a variable schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Your Experience: 

  • 2+ years of experience in food and beverage service/industry; previous café/barista experience a plus
  • High school diploma (or its equivalent), some college is preferred (current students welcome to apply)
  • One year of supervisory or management experience
